INTRAOCULAR LENSES

Using accommodating and multifocal intraocular lenses enable us greater flexibility of cataract treatment and give more options for refractive surgery. Multifocal intraocular lenses allow much better focusing at all ranges (from distance to near) than traditional monofocal lenses which allow to focus at one distance only. In patients over 40s often the best choice is clear lens exchange procedure that is almost identical to cataract surgery.

Accommodating intraocular lenses can restore almost normal or even normal eye accommodative function. Modern 1CU (produced by German company Human Optics)  accommodative lenses are used in our Clinic. Its made from soft material (acryl) and its cooperation with eyes muscle is almost ideal. The characteristics of 1CU is similar to natural lenses and thanks to the changes in its shapes enables sharp vision at either distance or near. This type of lenses is very good option for almost all patients over 20 years old.

Multifocal lens REZOOM is an one of the modern intraocular lenses for vision correction assuring very good distance and near vision and independence from glasses what it means higher quality of life. REZOOM lenses made with technology called Balanced View Optics are the second generation of refractive acryl lenses that they assure good functional vision at the whole range of distance under different circumstances. REZOOM is very useful for drivers.

Aspheric intraocular lens TECNIS with modified frontal surface that means a new standard in restoration of so called functional vision. It is excellent choice for drivers because TECNIS enables much better vision at difficult atmospheric conditions (nightfall, fog, rain, etc.). This type of intraocular lens also improves vision contrast and reduce spherical aberration.

Torical intraocular lens MicroSil Toric is very useful for astigmatism correction. This is a next example of the modern generation of individualized intraocular lenses. Patients with severe astigmatism do not need to wear cylindrical glasses after implantation of MicroSil Toric lenses exchanging their natural eye lenses. MicroSil Toric is soft, folded lens and can to be implanted by making only small opening.
